MagiC Carpets, Wrocławski Instytut Kultury & Kauno bienalė presents a multi-channel video installation LUCIDITY, where video projections represent non-ideal 3D scans of the participants’ bodies, authentic texts and documentation of the workshops on the topics of darkness, identity, ecstatic and somatic movement, playfully addressing the relationship between humans and new technologies.

November 24th this installation was opened in Grad Rajhenburg (Rajhenburg Castle, Slovenia) in the Luksuz Film Festival 2023.

Originally, it was presented as a interdisciplinary, movement-based performance at the borderline of dream and reality, darkness and light. It allowed visitors to experience rave party as a spectator and also transformed the spaces of a community centre and art gallery into spaces for nightlife and rave subculture.

Arnis Aleinikovas (SINUO), a member of the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Art Creators Association, releases his new, fourth  conceptual electronic music digital album "Jupiter's Monologues" in October. In 2022 the creator who debuted with the first mini-album "Emergency Exit", continues to surprise with the choice of albums concepts, productivity and unique sound, which, most likely, you will not mix with anyone else.

The artist, who has already presented his previous work to the residents of Germany, Portugal, Poland, and Sakartvel, in his fourth album "Jupiter's Monologues" resists the largest planet in the Solar System - Jupiter. Inspired by the original sounds from this planet recorded by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), SINUO invites listeners to get to know this planet more closely and at the same time look at our planet and ourselves from a little distance. Out of 617.06 million kilometers, if we talk in numbers.

Performance video “Not enough tears” created by Arnis Aleinikovas in Prague in 2021, reflects on the topic of separation and the state of being uncertain. Mixing different media elements, Arnis is capturing a moment of a person going through change both refusing inoperative patterns and accepting slightly new reality, with water in different forms playing a key role.

LUCIDITY in a contemporary art exhibition MAGIC CARPETS

LUCIDITY_byGintareZaltauskaite-5047.jpg

This exhibition presents the results of the main activity of the Creative Europe “Magic Carpets” platform - emerging artists’ residencies.

The main focus of the exhibition is to reflect on the ‘people-space’ relationship: on space’s influence on people and people’s influence on space.

The residencies that were implemented in Kaunas and other European cities, including Wroclaw, Rome and Guimaraes in 2022 and 2023 will be represented. The exhibition examines various approaches to creative placemaking practices and involvement of the local communities.

The artworks, created using collaborative and co-creative art practices, take the viewer on a journey through different spaces and experiences in hope that the threads of “Magic Carpets” will connect European cities and people, and invite you to discover what we have in common rather than what sets us apart.

Participating artists: Arnis Aleinikovas, Joana BC, Adrian Carlo Bibiano, Barbara Gryka and Agata Konarska, Yulia Krivich, Marija Nemčenko, Indrė Spitrytė, Berta Tilmantaitė and Sunny Nwume, Dan Vezentan.

Co-curators: Neringa Kulik and Brigita Bareikytė

Theatre performance JAUTRA (SENSITIVITY) in Kaunas Theatre festival "Išeities taškas"

_MG_1440.jpeg

Performative theatre production JAUTRA (SENSITIVITY) was created together with the Vytautas Magnus University BA "Theatre and dance pedagogy" students and it premiered June 12, 2023.

Performers had started building it from an individual research on the topic they were interested in at that given moment. This is why the performance is crossing such topics as burn-out, social image, fear, existentialism, mistrust, pain, connection with self and others.

Dramaturgically, JAUTRA is supported with the texts from A. Aleinikovas play "Lack". It is like a letter to oneself, which in the eyes of the observer turns into an impulse for a dialogue, on topics relevant to a modern young person.
